Monthly Music Saturday
Music Saturdays are about developing and practising skills. They provide an opportunity to learn and to try activities to find out whether they are interesting and enjoyable. Over time, different things have been timetabled on Saturdays, reflecting people's interests. In the summer, other events and commitments may mean Music Saturdays have to be a bit flexible.
We meet at Felton Village Hall. Refreshments are available throughout the day. Everyone is welcome to come to any of the sessions. No need to attend every month.
The morning is devoted to singing, with an emphasis on becoming a more confident singer. Pick up any of the sessions, or treat yourself and come to all of them!
Cost of Confident Singing is just 50p. For everything else, it's £1.50 for each session to cover room hire, refreshments and materials
December 8th
Reading Music will include syncopation survival skills – how to cope when the notes don't start on the beat.
We'll do some more work on singing in tune in the Confident Singing session, and check out how the breathing is going.
Now that quite a number of people are coming to A Cappella on a pretty regular basis, everyone will have a pack of music to keep. We'll sort out what to work on for the next month each time, so if you want, you can look over the notes. The packs will be A4 size, so if you like ring binders, you might want to bring one.
Ukulele-ers will carry on practising chords and strumming, and, if they want, a piece or two for the Tudor Revels!
After breaking the ice with a visit to the folk session in the Northumberland Arms on November 27, the Slow Tunes people will be looking towards another go, getting more tunes ready. Play by ear or from the music – any and all instruments welcomed.
