Live Music Day for Adults
This day is being organised by the team who are running the new Northumberland Festival of Music, the non-competitive successor to the Wansbeck Music Festival. The event is supported as part of Northumberland's Winter Festival. Sessions for young people are being held in Morpeth, Bedlington and Newbiggin, and there is a day for adults on Saturday 21 March at the Rothbury Jubilee Hall. Singers and players of all standards are invited to participate – as individuals or in groups of any size. It's about enjoying sharing music making of all types, performing for and listening to each other. There's no charge for taking part, though there will be a collection to help fund next year's event.
The schedule at present is:
10.30 – 12.00 Solos, duets and small ensembles. Accompanists are available for soloists who need one – their music needs to be provided in advance, and there can be a run through between 10 and 10.30.
12.00 – 1.30 Lunchtime Concert given by local ensembles – open to the public with refreshments available
1.30 – 2.30 Folk Session led by Martin Dunn – join in / bring a tune to play
2.30 – 3.30 Sharing session for voices – choirs and any vocal ensembles
