Mendelssohn Symphony No.2 ‘Lobgesang’

Join star British cellist Guy Johnston for Elgar’s celebrated concerto, followed by Mendelssohn’s ‘Hymn of Praise’, an unusual ‘symphony-cantata’ composed for a public celebration, which fuses three movements of symphonic writing with an oratorio section to great dramatic effect.
